About Me

Hello! My name is Braxton Reker and I am a junior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Biology. I am from Franklin, TN and attended high school nearby at Summit High School in Spring Hill. This semester, I am taking Ecology and Ecology lab as some of my courses. Throughout the semester, I look forward to creating an open conversation about Ecology through my blog. I will use the blog to share ideas, post research, and interact with my readers.

This blog will seek to publish research related to my findings in my lab but also to answer general ecological questions. I believe people should care about ecology as humans are a driving force to the world around them. Ecology seeks to understand the changes organisms, such as us, have on our environments. I am studying Ecology for this and also to better understand the relationships and systems simultaneously occurring in the ecosystem.

I want readers to take away from my weekly blog the significance, objectives, results, and conclusions of the lab activities. My blog is different from other science blogs online because it represents my interpretations of my research with peer-reviewed sources.

Science exists as an open conversation and I welcome my reader’s comments and questions.
